- What is your current role within the education space?
I am the school principal of Mariannridge Primary School; leading and working together with the School Management Team, the whole staff, School Governing Body and other community structures in ensuring that the future generation is nurtured holistically.
- What inspired you to follow this career path?
The love some of my teachers displayed in the classroom and outside the classroom (sports and music).
- What do you love most about what you do?
To observe the success of the young kids one has taught.
- What attributes, do you feel, are important for success in your role?
Teamwork, a professional attitude, and communication.
- What obstacles in life have you had to overcome, and what did you learn?
Being marginalised by the community on my first appointment. Involving myself in the community structures assisted me a lot.
- What advice do you have for young girls?
- Be prepared for challenges in life and learn to approach them positively
- Do not allow the system of life to bring you down and lose focus
