Story:
Lesley Ann Boucher was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia in 2017. She went through a very tough time with this, had to stay out of school most of that year and had to repeat her grade. She is in Grade 7 now but the reason why I still choose her to be my hero today is not only because is currently in remission but her spirit is always high and she is really eager to be back at school. The courage she has shown, even though you can see her pain, and her willingness to be better outshines her pain and misfortune.
What gives you hope for the future of South Africa?
Lesley Ann: The fact that I can help to make it an even better country.
What inspires you?
Lesley Ann: The people around me like my parents and my teachers.
